For The Fallen Dreams / Confession / Azriel Euro Tour 2010 |
In today's hardcore/metal scene, it's easy for anyone to become jaded by the constant clones of, what is basically, the same band with hundreds of different names.
We've all heard it; the same riff accompanied by the growling vocals
and simultaneous "chug-chug" breakdowns. So, we wait and maybe search
the music section on Myspace for a breath of fresh air. Thankfully,
hidden in the obscure depths of the internet are bands that give this
genre hope, and if you look hard enough, you can find them.
One of these noteworthy bands is Lansing, Michigan's well kept secret,
For the Fallen Dreams. Formed in late 2003 and signed with Rise Records
(The Devil Wears Prada, Drop Dead Gorgeous) in the summer of 2007,
these young men show incredible promise through songs that showcase
poignant and powerful writing, both lyrically and musically while still
staying in touch with their hardcore/metal roots. Their music displays
a well-done balance of metal and melody.
After being main support for A Day To Remember they are finally back for their first ever European Headline Run.
Confession, from the burgeoning depths of Melbourne’s hardcore scene is
a new and exciting enterprise bringing the mosh back to hardcore, and
an encounter with the savage new five piece may just warrant
forgiveness on a whole new level. For it’s not without lashings of
wraith that this vicious band have exploded onto the Australian music
scene with their debut release 2008’s Can’t Live Can’t Breathe.
Collectively this practised crew of misfits boast experience in an
array of some of Australia’s finest hardcore bands including
widely-adored yet now defunct I Killed The Prom Queen, thriving
Melbourne act Carpathian, US giants Bury Your Dead, Pro Team, and Byron
Bay band 50 Lions Add to this, notorious lead singer Michael Crafter’s
brief but tumultuous storming of the Big Brother 2008 House, and you’ll
find Confession’s combined crowd-pulling power is second to none.
Rounding out this already immense package are Scotlands own AZRIEL.
They already took Europe by storm this summer as support for A Day To
Remember.
